Privacy Policy
Last Updated: April 10, 2026
1. Introduction
Ahrefna Canada ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This policy outlines how we handle user data and the technical data retrieved during domain intelligence scans.
2. Data We Collect & Process
A. User Account Data
Via our authentication provider (Clerk), we collect your email address, name, and unique user identifier. This is used solely for managing your account, billing, and scan history.
B. Target Domain Data
When you submit a URL for analysis, we retrieve "Target Domain Data" which includes DNS records, SSL/TLS certificates, HTTP headers, WHOIS information, and page content for SEO/quality analysis.
Note: This data is technically public, but its association with your account history is treated with internal confidentiality.
3. Use of Scan Data
We use the Target Domain Data to:
- Generate your intelligence reports.
- Calculate SEO and Content Quality scores.
- Provide historical comparisons of domain health.
- Anonymously aggregate technical trends across the platform.
4. Third-Party Data Sharing
We integrate with specialized third-party providers to enhance our reports:
- Geolocation: Sending IP addresses to providers like MaxMind or IPStack to determine hosting location.
- Domain Strength: Using proprietary or partner algorithms (like DR Estimator) to gauge backlink profiles.
- Authentication: Using Clerk for SOC2-compliant identity management.
5. Data Retention Policy
Due to our "fetch once, save forever" policy, scan results are stored in our databases indefinitely. This allows users to track the history of a domain over time. You may request the deletion of your account and its associated private scan history by contacting us, but anonymized technical data may persist in our historical logs.
6. Security Measures
We utilize SSRF (Server Side Request Forgery) protection to ensure our infrastructure cannot be used as an attack proxy. Your account data is stored behind authenticated APIs with modern encryption standards.
